Lajos Law Firm: Arbitration Seminar in Budapest

We’re thrilled to share the success of the recent Arbitration Seminar, which was organized by our decades long partner Lajos Law Firm and Peter & Kim Attorneys at Law, for Italian and American companies operating in Hungary.

Arbitration in the New Geopolitical Climate in Europe

The English event was organized by AmCham Hungary on the 21st of September, at the exquisite Parisi Udvar Budapest, and focused on the intriguing topic of “Arbitration in the New Geopolitical Climate in Europe – What Are The New Trends, Pitfalls and What May The Future Hold?

The participants gained insights from the latest cases, from the Covid period and from the post-Russian-Ukrainian conflict context, which was presented by Flavio Peter and Konstantin Christie lawyers.

The possibility of turning to international arbitration against the state on bases of a bilateral investment protection treaty was discussed as well.  If a state harms the interest of a foreign investor the investor may have the opportunity to sue the state for damages.

The seminar shed light on the evolving landscape of arbitration in today’s complex geopolitical situation. Experts and participants alike exchanged invaluable knowledge, paving the way for new perspectives and innovative approaches.

The Seminar at the Italian Chamber of Commerce

The other event was organized in Italian language by the Italian Chamber of Commerce (CCIU); exclusive and free for CCIU members, at the CCIU premises in Lónyay utca.

Participants were given an overview of the dynamics of arbitration, market developments, emerging trends and common challenges in the European context.

We are grateful to all the speakers, attendees, and our partners for making this event a resounding success! Their contributions and active participation is truly appreciated.

We are looking forward to more exciting collaborations and seminars in the future.
