The public holidays and non-working days calendar has been published (decree 23/2021 ITM).

  • Monday, March 14, 2022, will be non-working to bridge the gap with Tuesday, March 15 (a public holiday commemorating the Revolution of 1848). In exchange, Saturday, March 26 will be a working day.
  • Monday, October 31, 2022, will be non-working to bridge the gap with Tuesday, November 1 (All Saints’ Day). In exchange, Saturday, October 15, 2022, will be a working day.
  • If employees do not wish to work on Saturday, March 26 or Saturday, October 15, they can always request a day off from their employer.

In conclusion, the calendar of public holidays is as follows:

  • New Year’s Day: Saturday, January 1, public holiday
  • Revolution of 1848: Monday, March 14 and Tuesday, March 15, public holidays, but in exchange, Saturday, March 26 is a working day
  • Easter: Good Friday, April 15, a public holiday. Easter Monday, April 18, public holiday
  • Labor Day: Sunday, May 1: public holiday
  • Pentecost: Monday, June 6, public holiday
  • Saint Etienne: Saturday, August 20, public holiday
  • 1956 Revolution: Sunday, October 23, public holiday
  • All Saints’ Day: Monday, October 31, and Tuesday, November 1, public holidays, but in exchange, Saturday, October 15 is a working day.

Hungarian school Spring holidays are scheduled on the following dates: from Thursday, April 13 to Tuesday, April 19, 2022 (6 days)
