A CHAT WITH OUR ALUMNI: ITL Group meets redouane loubaidi

Today, ITL Group is pleased to share with you another episode of its series of interviews with ITL alumni. Today we meet Redouane Loubaidi, intern between June and October 2021 in the marketing division.

Redouane was accompanied by Maxime Postec (the interviewer), an intern at ITL Group since February, and Irene Pepe, the manager and division manager at Economia.hu.

On the occasion of Earth Day, the interview focused on ecology and more particularly global warming.

The interview

So hello, everyone. First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer my question. THE first question, how are you today, and can you just introduce yourself Redouane.

Redouane : Hello, you’re welcome, and thank you very much for being here. It’s been a while and so many memories since I see your background and I’m doing fine my name is Redouane LOUBAIDI and right now I’m doing my last semester in Nice in France.

So what did you study like in your life? Which university have you been to ?

Redouane: I studied all my life in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. I also did my first gap year there and then the second gap year was in Orlando in the United States. That’s what gives me this experience, allows me to meet many international people. And that’s where I started to be aware of what I should be. I should go out of my comfort zone and travel, go to new cultures and meet new people from other cultures. And also that’s what the idea where it comes from to go to Italy is to learn a new language and to leave a new country that I will be honest, I never had this. I’ll never think about it. I always want to live in my comfort zone.

I guess right now, you are in ITL group, and you will see that you will not apply many things that you studied, but you will learn and it will grow up. It’s more than it’s more than university. So you might learn more than you learned in your university.

Maxime : We’ll just do a little introduction about the main topic of the interview. So like I say the interview will be mainly about sustainability, ecology and, in particular climate change.

And I don’t know if you have heard about the third and final part of the IPCC’s sixth report which reveals the solutions to limit the devastating impacts of global warming. According to the experts, there are less than 10 years left to act. This part presents several scenarios to limit greenhouse gas emissions and thus respect the Paris Agreement.

So my question is, I would like to know if you’re feeling concerned about this situation ?

Redouane: Well, I guess all the words should be concerned because it’s like the ecology is concerned by the whole world. And not only our generations, but also the upcoming generations.

And you Irene, do you feel concerned about it ?

Irene: Yes, I am concerned as well. And I think that it’s very important on a personal level, and also on a corporate level. We discuss sustainability and the impact that we have on our societies.

Maxime : So the second question is, what are your daily ecological gestures? And can you do it at your university or your workplace ?

Redouane : Yes, I guess I would say it all started from where we live. It’s the sorting. That’s the best way to start. When you are home, when you are cooking when you throw dishes.

Also, when you are going to the supermarket, you try to avoid some other materials like plastics. If you try something ecological, that would be better.

I would say right now I’m a student. I can’t allow myself when I go to buy ecological clothes, because it’s more costly. Yeah, but I would say that’s, of course, when in the future it will be better and better to start to look for something ecological and buy it.

And right now, we can see around the world that there are more companies making these kinds of products. That’s a good thing. It shows that the whole world cares.

Do you find that today, as a student, for example, it’s complicated to consume sustainable products and why?

Redouane : No, I would say it’s, I wouldn’t say complicated. I would say it takes more time. But it’s fine. Especially if we like it or if we’re concerned about it.

So the next question is, when you apply for a job in a company, do you pay attention to the impacts that it can have on the environment?

Redouane :  Honest answer. I will say it’s nice to have that but I guess as an engineer, it’s the last thing that we care about. That’s bad, but that’s the honest answer.
I mean, if you really care about ecology and you go with a company that is not considering, what about being a good influence in the company and you share your ideas about people, and maybe you will give this, like, talk about this issue with the company you never know no, you can change it, and then the company will change.

Since you’re from Morocco. are there different ways of acting about sustainability and ecology in the different countries you lived in?

Redouane : Yeah, I would say I don’t remember because I worked only one year. But I would say it’s really that we can see the impact right now. We can see that companies are also in Morocco really concerned.

When they’re looking for candidates, they always make it that they care about sustainability.

It means that candidates are really concerned. And I hope all the companies decided to do this, because it’s really important.

And this is super interesting when they do this kind of description because as I said before, it means that the content that’s right now, they’re more concerned about ecology than the salary.

Irene : I have a curiosity, have you ever considered working within an online team or being an online project manager? Or have you studied something specific to lead the team remotely?

Redouane : I guess it’s something that’s coming for sure. I mean, especially after the COVID, it gives money opportunities like this about remote work, because you can see also some companies right now they started to do the whole work, like remotely working with some people all around the globe.

Irene : This is also connected to sustainability. Thank to some companies might choose have instead of having one huge office have a smaller office around a place. So to support this new flexible system where people can work part-time remotely and part-time in the office. I think from a sustainability point of view, this is also interesting because it reduces a lot of CO2 emissions.

Redouane : And also, when you work remotely, it creates a lot of different living lifestyles. We can cook from home, not from fast food. So I’m very curious to see how it will develop.

Irene : Redouane, do you have some things that you want to share with us? For the ITL alumni community or the current interns?

Redaoune : Well, first, um, I’m glad I mean, I have this interview with you. And I also see Maxime concerned about many things that have concerned with the word that it means the quality of interest that you have right now in ITL Group.

Also, I’m sure right now, Maxime is having a good time in ITL Group and learning many things. What I recommend is to learn as much as you can from Irene.

And of course you will learn many things. I’m sure this experience will be such a good thing for your resume, especially being abroad in an Italian company based in Hungary. I’m sure  at the end of this internship, you will see that you grew up not only in your personality.
