How to create your first ad on Tik Tok

How to do advertising campaigns with TikTok

First you need to download the App, so if you work from a desktop type www.tiktok.com/business.

By accessing the login page, enter your credentials with username and password. Once done, you will get an initial screen with “Monitor Business Online Srls (Business Center) and the Ad Account. Through the Business Center it is possible to have an overview of the entire activity: data, employees, partners, create accounts and announcements to be connected to the Business Center (the equivalent of the Facebook Business Manager).

In the left menu, click on Account Ads to create one. Connect your Ad Account created earlier during registration to TikTok, by going to the Dashboard and clicking on your username, under which will appear an ID code of numbers only. Copy and paste it into the Ad Account section in the appropriate space for the account ID. Then select “Ad Account Administrator” and press SEND.

How to create your ads now?

By clicking on your account in the dark blue bar at the top, you log in your personal advertising account. Starting from the Dashboard you will find: CPC (Cost Per Click), CPA (Cost Per Action / Conversions), Impressions, CTR (Click To Rate, i.e. the percentage of users who have seen your ad and clicked on it), CVR (percentage of the results obtained with respect to the total clicks of the ads), Conversions and CPM (Cost Per Thousand views / impressions).

Enter all the data in your TikTok Ads Manager including your credit card to pay for your ads. Once you have entered the data, you can create your advertisement on the platform.

How to create your first TikTok Ads

Click on Campaign on the dark blue bar at the top. Press the Create button and select “type of purchase” at Auction. So now the important thing is to choose the goal of your advertising to get the desired results. Through the “Cover” button it is possible to show the advertisement to as many people as possible; if your goal is to make money right away with ads, you’ll need to aim for conversions from your audience; with the “Traffic” option you can drive people to your website or app; with “App installation” you can get more people to download your application.

Once you have found the goal, install the TikTok pixel on Shopify or ClickFunnels. Go to the “Resource”> Creativity section to create images, videos and sponsored ads directly from the platform.

In the “Resource> Audience” section you can create your target through “create custom audience” based on who has already interacted with your business; or you can “create a similar audience” using existing custom audience data (who bought, who got to the cart, who visited the website). This way you can create your conversion pixel. Going back to “Resource> Event” you can create your pixel. If you use Shopify you can automatically install it on TikTok. So connect your TikTok for business account, the pixel, the business center account, the target and the card to pay for the ADS. If you use ClickFunnels you will have to manually copy the code and set the other data. Once the pixel has been created, you will need to enter the reference site and the code (Click Funnels> Funnel> Head Tracking Code). Now the pixel is ready.

Paste your website URL, the code (at ClickFunnel> Funnel, choose the funnel and enter the Head Tracking Code) and save. The TikTok pixel will receive all events from the ClickFunnels sales funnel. Once the pixel has been created, enter it on the TikTok Ads Manager and decide whether to place your ads on other platforms, outside your country as well. Every time you decide to start a new campaign, we advise you to test the target (the youth group uses TikTok more but always trust your data), the contents (some will certainly be more appreciated than others, this data will guide you in the production of the next ones ), the period, the products, etc.

The budget

The minimum daily budget on TikTok is €20 per day per sponsorship. It is possible to plan the date and time in which to start your advertisements, even here experiment to understand when it is best for you. Set the optimization goal on Conversion and a minimum bid of € 1 thanks to which TikTok will try to get a conversion.

In the end, create your ad with title, video or photo content and always experiment with new ideas to capture the attention of your customers and maximize sales.
