Behind the Budapest Business Party: how ITL Group builds corporate events

Behind The Budapest Business Party. Guests Networking At Dusk On The Budapest Business Party Ship Deck, With The Danube And The Chain Bridge Behind Them.

Meet the team behind the Budapest Business Party, and behind your next corporate event! Szilvia Szlavitsek, Luigino Bottega and Irene Pepe on the work behind one of Budapest’s largest international business events.

A successful corporate event begins with a clear purpose. Bringing that purpose to life takes a strong concept, the right venue and suppliers, carefully planned communication and precise coordination.

The Budapest Business Party brings these elements together on a demanding scale. Behind the evening enjoyed by Budapest’s international business community lies a complex project, run by the same team and the same decades of experience that ITL Group brings to its clients’ events.

We spoke with Szilvia Szlavitsek, Head of ITL Group’s Events Business Unit, Luigino Bottega, Chief AI & Innovation Officer, and Irene Pepe, Communications and Marketing Manager, about how their expertise comes together and what it can bring to your next corporate occasion.

Where does an event like BBP begin?

Szilvia Szlavitsek: It begins with developing the concept: understanding the occasion, the audience and the experience we want to create. That concept guides every practical decision that follows.

We select a suitable venue, develop the catering proposal, plan the technical requirements and choose performers who complement the atmosphere. These decisions are closely connected. A venue might look spectacular, but it also needs to work for guest arrivals, catering service, technical installations and the programme.

Our role is to bring all these elements into one coherent, achievable plan that reflects the client’s priorities and budget.

What makes the planning and delivery so complex?

Szilvia Szlavitsek: Each supplier has different requirements, deadlines and responsibilities, but on the day everything must work together.

At BBP, we coordinate setup, technical checks, catering, performers, guest reception and the programme. Behind that are detailed schedules, supplier briefings, clear responsibilities and contingency plans. A change in one area can affect several others.

That is why operational planning matters so much. We think through the details, manage the connections between suppliers and oversee delivery on site, so our clients can welcome their guests with confidence.

And then the doors open and the venue fills with energy. After months of preparation, you see people connecting and enjoying everything you have created. That moment never gets old.

Luigino, what is your contribution to that process?

Luigino Bottega: My focus is the strategy: why we are organizing the event, whom we want to reach and what we want it to achieve.

For a company, the objective might be to strengthen client relationships, introduce a new facility, engage employees or build visibility. Defining that objective helps us shape the concept, programme and event communication.

With BBP, bringing the international business community together gives the evening its direction. For a corporate client, we apply the same thinking: every major choice should support the purpose of the event and the message the company wants guests to take away.

Is there a BBP moment that illustrates how an ambitious concept becomes reality?

Luigino Bottega: Bringing a Ferrari aboard the ship is a good example. It was a striking idea, but making it happen required feasibility checks, precise planning and close coordination.

Szilvia Szlavitsek: Moments like that show how much work can sit behind a single detail. You need to understand the venue’s constraints, organize access, coordinate the people involved and fit the installation into the overall schedule. Our experience helps us assess an idea and work out how to deliver it.

Irene, how does marketing support the event?

Irene Pepe: Marketing connects the event with its intended audience. Building on the strategy and concept, we develop a consistent identity and clear messages across invitations, promotional materials and digital channels.

The work continues after the event, too. Photos, video and follow-up content help the company share the experience and maintain the connection with its audience.

BBP also gives potential clients a concrete example of ITL Group’s capabilities. Behind its identity is a team they can work with for their own corporate events.

How does this experience translate into value for a company planning its own event?

Szilvia Szlavitsek: Our clients have one coordinated team to guide the project from concept to delivery. We help them make informed choices, bring the right suppliers together and manage the practical details.

The format may be a conference, partner meeting, press conference, team-building activity, factory opening or employer branding event. The starting point is always understanding what the company needs and building the event around it.

When should a company get in touch?

Szilvia Szlavitsek: As soon as there is an occasion, an objective or an initial idea. You do not need a finished brief. We can help develop the concept, explore suitable options and prepare a realistic plan around your timing and budget.
